What does it mean when bridal shower invite has no RSVP?
At first I posted this in the “wedding” category, but now I think it may be more of an “etiquette” issue.
I was invited to a traditional “brunch” for a friend of mine who’s getting married soon. I’m interpreting that to mean bridal shower. It’s being held at someone’s (I’m assuming a bridesmaid’s) house that’s close to where I live, but it’s definitely in a region of the state where the bride-to-be has no ties.
My concern is that the mailed invitation has no request for an RSVP and no additional contact info for the hostess other than her address. Why would they not ask for RSVP? Am I supposed to RSVP with an old vacation postcard (kidding)? Do they really not care whether I attend or not? The bride-to-be is a fairly good friend of mine from college, but she’s tends to be a bit materialistic and showy despite her kind nature.

I guess they must be made of money and don’t care how many folks show up or not. OR The gal throwing it has never thrown a shower and has no clue how to do it.
You could always reverse search the address and call her. If you know another friend of the bride or her family, as them what they think as well.
