5 Best Resources for Wedding Planning

When it comes to wedding planning it is a good idea to utilize any tools and resources at your disposal, whether your Wedding Day will be big or small.  Planning a wedding is a mammoth task even if you are an uber organized bride, so whether you are just starting your planning or are part way through, check out these 5 resources to help you get the best from your ideas and your budget!

1.  The Internet: this is a no brainer really and is probably the first place you went to when you got engaged.  From wedding directories to blog sites, the internet is the ultimate wedding planning resource. With so much information available it is a good idea to take some time to research a handful of sites which best meet your wedding ideas.  Try to include a wedding directory filled with local wedding services, a magazine site with tips and ideas and a wedding retailer who stocks a wide range of wedding goods.

2.  Magazines: there are many wedding magazines available, from national publications to locally published magazines.  Setting up a subscription can be a good idea if you plan you purchase regularly and will save you money.  Use your magazines to help you build a scrapbook of ideas and inspirations which you can show to vendors such as your cake maker, florist and bridal boutique.

3.  Wedding Planning Books: there are literally hundreds of books devoted to wedding planning available.  Use websites like Amazon to find those which get the best reviews and pick one which fulfills all the requirements you have for wedding day.  Wedding planning books can be very useful if you are having something non-traditional or a culture based wedding and you are in need of more information.
4.  Friends and Family: no doubt your nearest and dearest have already tried to provide you with much in the way of advice and ideas.  Whilst it can be annoying to have everyone trying to hijack your wedding, they may just have some useful advice and ideas you could use.  So try to listen to what they have to say, consider it and either politely say no or make some notes for later on!

5.  Professional Wedding Planner: many may think it a cheat to hire a professional wedding planner to plan your wedding day, but they can be worth their weight in gold, especially if you are on a tight budget.  Wedding planner’s have access to vendors, venues and more importantly price deals that you wouldn’t ordinarily have access to, they are also a great source of ideas and inspiration.  You can hire them to plan all of your wedding or just part of it, like the reception.
