Wedding Day Checklist
Planning a wedding for you, or a family member can be an exhausting and stressful exercise. After months of planning and preparation regarding the wedding service, wedding reception, wedding cars etc, it’s almost finally time for that special day, the wedding day.
WEDDING DAY CHECKLIST
Here are some of the things that you should check the day before the wedding
Last Minute Calls
After months of planning you have obviously informed everyone of every last detail regarding their role in making this the perfect wedding day. But just to make sure make some last minute calls to the Caterer, Wedding Photographer, Wedding Service venue, The Reception Site, Cars and Limo and last but not least The Wedding Entourage, just to make sure that everyone is OK .
Wedding Decorations, (Ceremony and Reception Venues).
Both at the Wedding Service and Reception venues decoration arrangements can usually only be installed the day before the wedding. Although someone else is probably arranging the wedding decorations for you we recommend that you visit both venues, once in the morning checking that flower arrangements have arrived on time etc, and once in the afternoon, just for a final check.
Wedding Speeches.
Make sure all persons delivering the wedding speeches are prepared, you don’t’ have to know the details of any one speech, but it is a good idea to lay down a few guidelines, regarding speech content that may cause embarrassment.
The Traditional Order of Speeches are:
- The Father Of The Bride to welcome all the relatives and friends, he may then talk about his
daughter and the great moments they spent together, he may also include a few amusing stories. - The Bridegroom is welcomed by the brides father as a new member of the family, after delivering his speech the groom offers a toast to the bridesmaids and thanks the guest. The parents of the groom can also join him to greet the bride.
- The Best Man then delivers his speech, and as usually being one of the grooms best friends, would have a couple of amusing stories to share.
- The Bride would talk about her husband and thank her parents, her speech may be added to by the bride’s or groom’s siblings, grandparents, guardians, the wedding official and cousins.
- Friends and Guests, finally if any of the bride and groom’s friend’s wishes to deliver their speech they can proceed.
- Master Of Ceremonies makes sure all speeches have been included and completed he may then offer a few final words and toast to the Bride and Groom.
Wedding Reception
Its usually a good idea to have a wedding reception itinerary, your checklist should include:
Wedding Dinner Seating arrangements, Place Cards etc.
Wedding Speeches and Toasts.
Cutting of the Wedding Cake.
Bride and Groom Dance, (Chosen Song).
Bridal Party, then Open Dancing, and party games, (if arranged).
Of course, there’s no need to follow any particular prescribed order for the wedding reception, but the comfort of your guests and how much they enjoy themselves will go a long way in making your wedding reception exactly what you dreamed it to be.

Finally get a good night’s sleep. No need to worry, you have done everything possible to make this Wedding Day perfect, just as the way you’ve always envisioned it to be.
